FCI Recognized for Excellence with Award from Huawei

ETTERS, P.A. (November 12, 2008)- FCI, a leading manufacturer of connectors and interconnect systems, was named by Huawei as the 2008 Excellent Core Partner award recipient. Huawei is a world-leading telecom solutions provider focused on building long-term partnerships with telecom operators.Pierre Vareille, CEO of FCI and Pete Curwen (VP & GM FCI Electronics

Division), accepted the award on behalf of FCI at the 2008 Global Core Partner Convention in Bantian, China, in early November.

Huawei recognized the connector supplier for its successful relationship with FCI's multi-level and multi-functional team. Huawei and FCI

collaborated on several projects in the past year including the developmentof a 10Gb/ps backplane connector using FCI's popular Airmax® technology.The success of this project resulted in widespread use of Airmax in Huawei equipment.

Using more than 20 connectors from FCI's recently developed ZipLine high-density product line on one backplane, Huawei was able to complete a reliability assessment on daughter card connectors with increased insertion

force.

Other projects included the development of E1/T1 and VDSL I/O connectors and a fiber- optic backplane connector.
