Ixia Wins Two Best of Show Awards at Interop Japan 2009

1 year 2 months ago → Conferences and Awards

TOKYO --(Business Wire)-- Jun 16, 2009 -- Ixia (NASDAQ:XXIA), a leading, global provider of IP performance test systems, today announced that its “K2” 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) solution was awarded Interop Japan’s Best of Show “Grand Prix” while its next generation Acceleron™-NP load module, which provides the industry with an unmatched level of layer 7 test emulation capacity, garnered Best of Show in the Test and Measurement category. Ixia was also instrumental in NTT Communications’ Best of Show “Grand Prix” award for a demonstration of its next generation ultra high speed network technology – a 100 Gbps test between the show floor and NTT office in Otemachi (Tokyo), in which an Ixia K2 was used to generate and analyze traffic.

Ixia’s 100 GE test interface, exhibited at Ixia’s booth at the show, won the Grand Prix Award in the Evaluation Related Product category. “K2” test interface is the latest component in Ixia’s test platform that includes test chassis and a load modules designed for different interface types and speeds. All load modules, including both the 40 GE and 100 GE models, test the full range of IP networking devices – from layer 2 through 7. Ixia is an active member of the IEEE P802.3ba standards committee developing standards for these higher speed Ethernet (HSE) speeds; the standard is expected to be ratified in June of next year.

“Ixia’s commitment to be first-to-market in the higher speed Ethernet market has met with industry accolades,” said Errol Ginsberg, Chief Innovation Officer at Ixia. “NTT’s demonstration is another example of how Ixia is helping to bring this new technology to market faster, and with higher quality.”

Ixia’s patent-pending Acceleron-NP technology utilizes multiple specialized, dynamically configured network processors that delivers performance not possible with standard architectures. Acceleron-NP provides a cost-effective test solution that enable network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) to completely test their products for the capacity and functionality that next-generation data centers will require.

Ixia also demonstrated its 40 GE and 100 GE load module and Acceleron-NP at Interop Las Vegas in May. Ixia is hosting a virtual trade show with videos from the show at www.ixiacom.com/IxiaTV. Visit Ixia’s web site at www.ixiacom.com for more information.
