5 months 2 weeks ago → Conferences and Awards

Open Source Business Conference

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that President and CEO, Jim Whitehurst, will deliver the opening keynote address at Open Source Business Conference (OSBC) 2010. OSBC brings together open source vendors, customers, partners and community members to share strategies and hear the most current thinking on open source from the top experts in the field.

“Management's Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations”

Throughout the recession, open source has appealed to CIOs faced with tight budgets by continuing to offer opportunities to reduce costs and improve the bottom line. Whitehurst will address reasons to be optimistic about what lies ahead on the open source landscape and the opportunities open source offers. He will discuss how open source enables customers to leverage emerging technologies like cloud computing, virtualization and Java.

Whitehurst will also participate in a moderated open source CEO panel discussion exploring customer motivations for adopting open source software; operational experiences with open source adoption such as maintenance and cost control; disruptive business models and which market segments are being impacted; as well as many other issues impacting open source adoption in the enterprise and government.

In addition, Red Hat will host a Birds of a Feather session at OSBC focused on Opensource.com and how the open source model extends beyond technology to impact business, education, government, law and everyday life.
