Motorola standardizes on ASSET as its worldwide boundary scan (JTAG) supplier

4 years 1 month ago → Contracts

Richardson, TX (July 12, 2006) – ASSET InterTech Inc., (www.asset-intertech.com) an international leader in boundary-scan (IEEE 1149.1/JTAG) test and in-system programming (ISP), has signed a multiyear contract with Motorola, Inc. of Schaumburg, IL, to become Motorola's worldwide supplier of boundary scan (IEEE 1149.1 or JTAG) electronic test systems. The contract resulted from a benchmarking process that compared ASSET's ScanWorks® JTAG test system with Motorola's incumbent supplier.

ScanWorks now will be deployed in any of Motorola's manufacturing or research and development facilities where structural and functional JTAG tests are performed.

“We have been in discussions with Motorola for quite some time and it is very gratifying to see the whole process culminate in a set of benchmarks that clearly established ScanWorks' JTAG superiority,” said Alan Sguigna, vice president of sales and marketing for ASSET. “We have made a significant investment in product development in recent years, adding new and advanced capabilities like system-level JTAG test and programming to ScanWorks. These efforts are paying off for us now, but we know we have to continue to work hard to repay the confidence Motorola has shown in us.”

ASSET's easy yet powerful ScanWorks boundary-scan test and ISP environment is currently used by leading electronics companies such as Cisco, Lucent Technologies, Agilent, BAE, Alcatel, Hewlett-Packard, Ericsson, Intel, Raytheon, SBS, Solectron, Rockwell Collins, EMC and others.

“Our group has been focusing on system-level JTAG concepts in our telecom and wireless products for some time now,” said Steve Harrison, test engineer with the GTSS Group in Motorola's Networks Division. “ASSET has committed to this technology with new features in ScanWorks and we felt that it would be advantageous over the long term if we were to standardize on the ScanWorks platform at this time.”
