Polaris Networks' HPI Tester assists ATCA Building-block Manufacturers and System Integrators test their HPI implementation

Lexington, Massachusetts, September 11, 2008 – Polaris Networks, a technology leader in software testing tools, announced today, the release of its latest product, the HPI Tester.

The HPI Tester is an automated test-tool that tests a Hardware Platform Interface (HPI)implementation in conformance to the requirements defined in the Service Availability™ (SA) Forum HPI specification SAI-HPI-B.02.01 and SA™ Forum HPI-to-AdvancedTCA® Mapping specification SAIMHPI-B01.01-ATCA. Telecom Equipment Manufacturers as well as ATCA System Integrators and Manufacturers of ATCA building blocks can now test their HPI implementations during the product development or quality assurance phase.

The user-friendly interface of the HPI Tester allows the selection and automated execution of the test cases as well as the viewing of detailed decodes of all API function calls. The current version (1.0.0) comprises roughly 550 API test cases that cover the 79 HPI-B.01.01 API functions, and 50 ATCA-mapping test cases. The test cases, scripted in TCL, are editable and users can add their own test cases.

The Tester has undergone Beta testing at several sites and is now commercially available.
