AZUSA, Calif. – Acme Portable Machines, Inc., a leading provider of rugged portable platforms and industrial LCD keyboard drawers, today announced the release of the world’s first rugged portable MicroTCA platform, the Versa 100. Integrated with a full-size keyboard and a 15” LCD display, the Versa 100 is ideal for anyone who wants to develop, test or demonstrate their applications based on the fool-proof MicroTCA platform without spending too much engineering time, thus reducing development efforts, time to market and total cost of ownership.

The integrated backplane from ELMA provides three mid size AMC and two full size AMC card slots, the Versa 100 is the perfect portable platform for various advanced technology applications. The NAT MCH system consists of Freescale ColdFire 547x 200 MHz CPU, 16MB of DRAM, 16MB of Flash, GbE at Fabric A with a 2ndGbE uplink, SAS/SATA ports, Clock module with PCIe and serial debug connector. The Versa 100 MicroTCA Portable platform utilizes Trenton Technology processor card with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.26GHz processor, 2GB dual channel DDR3-1066 memory, ADLINK Technology storage card with a 250GB SATA drive, 15” LCD display at 1024x768 resolutions, and a 300W power supply in a compact rugged aluminum chassis. The display is protected by tempered anti-glare glass. There are also options such as adding touch screen or upgrading to sunlight readable LCD to meet specific applications.

Acme Portable’s MicroTCA platform is the first of its kind in the industry. The modular design of Versa 100 enables higher flexibility for various slot counts, card heights, and component configurations.
