AUSTIN, Texas – Aug. 18, 2009 –3M announced the appointment of Vojislav (Voyl) Divljakovic to vice president and general manager of Austin-based Electronic Solutions Division, effective Aug. 5. Divljakovic replaces Hervé Gindre who was recently appointed vice president and general manager, Electronics Markets Materials Division, based in St. Paul, Minn. Both divisions are part of the Austin-headquartered Electro and Communications Business that generated more than $2.8 billion in global sales in 2008. New to 3M, but not the electronics industry, Divljakovic brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurial executive leadership; most recently as president of Titus d.o.o, a consulting company located in Split, Croatia that helped launch Mireo d.o.o. from Zagreb, Croatia as the global supplier of navigation software for mobile devices. Previously, he held senior-level roles in Brunswick Corporation, including president of Navman and president of BNT Commercial Group; senior vice president of Operations for Life Fitness; and vice president of Research and Development at Mercury Marine. Divljakovic also spent five years as director of New Product Development at U.S. Electrical Motors in the Emerson Electric division. Prior to beginning his career at Emerson Electric, he was associated professor at Institute “Ruder Boskovic” in Zagreb, Croatia. He will be a U.S.-based employee, leading the 3M Electronic Solutions Division from offices in Austin and Singapore. This change reflects continued efforts to evolve capabilities at key geographical locations to serve and grow the company’s global customer base. A member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Divljakovic holds several U.S. patents for his innovations and has written more than 100 articles which have been published in trade journals and presented at trade conferences. A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Divljakovic earned a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia; a master's of business administration from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.; and a master of science and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb.
