Tail-f Systems Announces Support for New SA Forum Standard

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – October 31, 2008 – Tail-f Systems, the leading developer of unified network management software for network equipment vendors, today announced it is supporting the Service Availability (SA) Forum’s newly released Information Model Management (IMM) service, IMM A.03.01. Tail-f will employ this standardized service as an add-on module to its ConfD product available for customers in December 2008, allowing them to implement carrier grade network management solutions including essential interfaces like NETCONF, SNMP, CLI and Web UI while leveraging emerging standard interfaces from the SA Forum.

The SA Forum is a consortium of industry-leading communications and computing companies working together to foster the use of commercial-off-the-shelf building blocks in the creation of high-availability network infrastructure products, systems, and services. It’s Application Interface Specification (AIS) for high-availability middleware supports applications that must provide continuous service to their users, enabling developers to write applications that are portable across different vendors’ implementations of the AIS.

The IMM A.03.01 is the most recent version of the service defined in the SA Forum’s sixth and latest Application Interface Specification released on October 21, 2008. The IMM standardized service provides standard building blocks for managing all objects of the SA Forum Information Model and allows the APIs to access and manage these objects.

“By unifying multiple levels of functionality, the SA Forum AIS delivers a set of interfaces that provides consistency for application developers and network architects,” said Hakan Millroth, President and CEO, Tail-f Systems. “We are committed to and working aggressively with the SA Forum to help drive the development of this specification, as it enables the industry to benefit from the value of standards-based, commercial-off-the-shelf solutions, and ultimately lowers configuration management costs, improves service availability, and reduces time-to-market.”

About Tail-f Systems Tail-f Systems is the leading developer of unified network management software for network equipment vendors.
