3M Interconnect Products & Newark Partner on Solutions Selector

CHICAGO—NOVEMBER 10, 2009 Leading multi-channel electronics distributor Newark, part of the global Premier Farnell Group, and 3M Interconnect Products have partnered to develop a comprehensive online selector tool to make parts identification and purchasing easier and faster for engineers. With the large number of interconnect products available, identifying the right connector can often be time consuming for engineers.

The interactive selector, dubbed by 3M as “interconnect in a box” for its ease of use, can be accessed at www.newark.com/3M After a user selects one of 13 broad product categories, such as board to board, I/O, backplane and wire to wire, more and more narrow specification options are presented. The end result provides a Newark part number with access to stock availability and pricing, plus convenient tabs to find product detail, technical documentation and corresponding 3D CAD models.

A user has the choice to add the part to the Newark shopping cart with a single click, or can print or email information about the part, including RoHS certification documentation.
